Those Winter Sundays

About this poem, I think it is kind of sad, because as time pass it is less common to hear someone saying "thank you". It doesn't matter how isnignificant is the thing someone does for you, it is important to thank.
There are many times in which the people that love you do many things and we don't notice about that. Like in the poem, a father that stands up early to drive out the cold and when the house is warm, he calls his family.
I think that this poem shows the importanc of saying "thank you". It is important to don't lose that value.
What I liked about the poem were the metaphors, specially the one that says: blueblack cold; and aslo the cold splintering, breaking.

  1. I also think this poem has a strong message to all of us and it is nice that the author tries to teach or advise us to thank. I think it is just kind that he tries to make us avoid feeling regrets about thanking people who do these love's austere and lonely offices.
