About other blogs

I really enjoyed writing in other blogs. It is a very interesting activity because I haven't read any other blog throughout the year. I liked it because I found out that we can all have many different opinions and in some cases we can also have the same point of view.
There are some blogs that are really interesting, but there are also some others that are not very nice, not even interesting.

No Witchcraft for Sale

I really liked this short story. There are many values in this story and they are all important, for example to be thankful, how can you pay someone who has just saved you from losing your sight? There is also one part of the story in which they talk about money, there are many things more important than money (for me is to live completely). Another value is to respect the point of view of each other (Gideon didn't want to show the plant to the doctor). The most important thing that I can appreciate in this story was that Gideon and his family considered themselves different from the Farquars (one will grow up to be a baas, and one will be a servant); in my point of view we are all the same just because of the fact that we are all humans. (We should treat each other for what we are, humans.)

Twelfth Night

I am really enjoying the play of Twelfth Night and also the movie. After reading the act one in the book, I consider that the book is better, because there are some words that change of meaning and there is a really good explanation of that in the book; besides that in the movie sometimes I don't get all the conversations. In the other hand the movie is nice, the acting is really good. My favourite parts of the movie are when Cesario (Viola) met Olivia and she falls in love with him (Viola/Cesario), it was really funny. Twelfth Night has bcome one of my favourite Shakespeare's plays.

Shakespeare

I think that Shakespeare is a really good writer, even though I don't like some of his works.
He really knew how to make people get interestes in all he wrote, he was able to make the audience feel kind of identified with many of his plays (they laugh in the comedies); I think that is one of the main reasons of why he was so succesfull.
I do believe that he was the author of all his works. Maybe he got inspired with all the things that were around him or hear a story, then adapt it in a way that it was liked by the audience. In my point of view he is still alive (he is inmortal), because we continue reading his works mostly his play of Romeo and Juliet (it is my favorite one).

The Interlopers

I liked this story, it is not the best but it is nice.
I think that the start of the story is nice and it has a good setting.
The part that I liked more of the story is when Ulrich and Georg became friends at last.
I don't understand why there have to happen bad things to make people see there are also good ones. Both of them had been enemies and they don't even had tried to know each other, there is not a concrete reason of why they hate each other.
The ironic part of the story is that when they have just became friends and they think someone is coming to save them, there appear wolves.
I wasn't expecting that but it makes that the end of the story be interesting.

Phenomenal Woman

I think that this poem is one of my favourite ones. I really enjoy reading ot in class.
One of the things I like of this poem is that it talks about all women in general, and we hav to be proud of that. Even though we are all different, we also have similarities.
I also loked the metaphors; I found some of them find of funny, for example:
Then they swarm around me
a hive of honey bees.
When I read this part I remembered one day of my life (I was like 11 years old), my mom and I went to Office Depot and we saw a very pretty woman and my mon told me to see the faces of the men (this is the part I remember most), they all were staring at her and some of them had their mouths opened. Then the woman asked for one of the workers if he could help her and he didn't pay attntion to what she asked him; she got upset and two workers went to see what was happening, then they help her to find I don't remember what. When she left one man was telling other "I don't know what we saw in that woman".
This poem also makes me see many other virtues that women have. For example Maya Angelou didn't give up and now she is a great writer, besides she was a singer.
I am proud of being a woman.

Exile

I really liked this poem; I think I have nver read a poem like this.
I think that this poem is very interesting, because it tells a story and also involves the feelings of the author and her family.
I also liked the images of the poem, it isn't difficult to see them, because it is kind of a strory
(has a plot).

The poem is really nice; the idea of leaving the place where you live is... I don't know how to describe it, but I think that doesn't matter if you go with your family, because they are your home. I thimk it would had been really confusing for Julia to escaoe from her country from one day to the other, leaving most of her things and have memories of what used to be.

Those Winter Sundays

About this poem, I think it is kind of sad, because as time pass it is less common to hear someone saying "thank you". It doesn't matter how isnignificant is the thing someone does for you, it is important to thank.
There are many times in which the people that love you do many things and we don't notice about that. Like in the poem, a father that stands up early to drive out the cold and when the house is warm, he calls his family.
I think that this poem shows the importanc of saying "thank you". It is important to don't lose that value.
What I liked about the poem were the metaphors, specially the one that says: blueblack cold; and aslo the cold splintering, breaking.

The Taxi

I liked this poem because it was easy to read and because of the images.
This poem is really interesting, because it talks about somenone who is leaving and is just seeing how the streets pass through.
In this poem I also found oit that it is very interesting how the author managed to write about someone's feelings while being in a taxi.
When I read the poem I imagined a person who was in a taxi, wondering about many things and wanted to come back. I think it would be frustrating to be in a situation like that, just thinking about coming back or not, and knowing that the time is also running as well as the streets.
I also wondered about where the taxi was going, maybe to the airport.
